Brightside Preschool - Hatfield, is based within the grounds of Breaks Manor Youth and Community Centre, and caters for children aged 3 months and over. We are open from 8:50am to 2:50pm, Monday to Friday during Term Time.
Brightside Preschool is a Community Interest Company (CIC). This means we run to benefit the local community rather than to make a profit. Any surplus income is reinvested back into the setting to support children’s learning, resources, and the overall quality of our provision.
Our aim is to make high-quality childcare affordable and accessible to families in our local community - Welwyn, Hatfield, and Hertford.
Funded places do not incur any additional consumable fees, as parents supply nappies, wipes, and a healthy packed lunch if attending for lunch. We do ask for a contribution of £1 per week towards the cost of snack, which is provided by the preschool. Children enjoy a choice of fruits and a savoury option, along with milk and water. We have snack mid-morning and mid-afternoon.
At Brightside Preschool, we strive to create a warm, friendly, and nurturing environment where children feel safe, valued, and able to develop at their own pace. Through our rich and engaging curriculum, we introduce children to new topics and meaningful experiences, building on their individual interests and encouraging their natural curiosity.
We place great importance on building strong relationships with our families, working in partnership to ensure every child thrives throughout their early years. Our online learning journals keep families regularly informed about their child’s experiences and progress, while also providing opportunities to share learning from home and be actively involved in their child’s journey.
At Brightside Preschool, we celebrate individuality and promote an inclusive environment where diversity is respected and embraced.
We believe that high-quality early years education should be accessible to all families, as it plays a vital role in giving children the best possible start in life. We offer government-funded sessions for eligible children. Additional hours and paid sessions are available at competitive rates, helping to make childcare affordable for families in our local community.
