How Nuuri protects your personal information when you use our website

Welcome to nuuri.co.uk! We are committed to protecting your privacy and ensuring that your personal information is handled responsibly and transparently. This privacy policy outlines the types of information we collect from you, how it is used, and the rights you have regarding your personal data.

Information We Collect

Analytics Data

Purpose: We use Google Analytics to collect data about your interactions with our website. This helps us understand how visitors use our site and enables us to improve our services and your user experience.

Data Collected: This may include information about how you access our website, the pages you visit, the time you spend on each page, and how you interact with the site. This data is not personally identifiable.

Registration of Interest

Purpose: When you register your interest in our services, we collect your personal information to keep you informed about updates, new services, and relevant information that might interest you.

Data Collected: This includes your first name, last name, email address, and optionally, the nursery name you are associated with.

Opt-out: You can opt out of these communications at any time by using the opt-out links contained within all our emails.

Nursery Expression of Interest

Purpose: When you express interest in a nursery listed on our website, you may choose to fill out a contact form. We collect the information you provide to facilitate communication between you and the nursery.

Data Collected: This includes any personal details you provide, such as your name, email address, and any other contact information or preferences related to the nursery services. Processing this information is necessary for the performance of a contract or to take steps at your request before entering into a contract.

Children’s Information

Purpose: When you submit an enquiry, register for an event, join a waiting list, or book a visit, we collect information about the child the enquiry relates to. Nurseries need this to determine availability for the right age group and to respond to you.

Data Collected: This includes the child’s name and date of birth. Where you tell us the child is not yet born, we record an expected due date instead of a date of birth. Depending on the form you use, the date of birth may be required or optional.

Who provides it: We collect this information from you as the child’s parent, guardian, or someone acting with their authority — never from the child directly. Our services are intended for use by adults, and we do not knowingly allow children to submit their own information to us.

How We Use Your Information

To Provide Services: We use your information to process and respond to your requests, such as inquiries made through our contact form.

To Improve Our Website: Analytics data allows us to enhance our website functionality and user experience.

Sharing Your Information

Nurseries: When you submit an enquiry, register for an event, join a waiting list, or book a visit, we send the details you provide — including the child’s name and date of birth — to the nursery concerned so that it can respond to you. Where you rank or select more than one nursery in a single enquiry, we send those details to each nursery you have chosen. Each nursery is an independent controller of the information it receives and handles it under its own privacy policy.

Nurseries not yet registered with Nuuri: Some nurseries listed on our site have not yet claimed a profile. If your enquiry concerns one of them, we notify them that a family has enquired and invite them to register. That notification does not contain the child’s name, the child’s date of birth, or any of the other details of your enquiry. Your email address is included as the reply address, so the nursery can respond to you directly. We only release the enquiry itself once the nursery has registered.

Service providers: We use a third-party email delivery provider to send email on our behalf, which means enquiry contents pass through their systems. They act as our processor, may process data outside the UK, and are not permitted to use it for their own purposes.

Otherwise: We do not sell your personal data or share it with any other third party, except where we are required to do so by law.

Children’s Data

We recognise that information about children deserves particular care, and we treat it accordingly.

Our lawful basis: We rely on our legitimate interests to process a child’s name and date of birth. Those interests are operating a nursery search and enrolment service, and passing an enquiry to a nursery in a form it can act on — a nursery needs the child’s age to tell you whether it has a place in the right age group. We have assessed these interests against the child’s rights and consider that our use of the information is limited to what you would reasonably expect when making an enquiry. You can object to this processing at any time; see Your Rights below.

Data minimisation: We ask only for the child’s name and date of birth. We do not collect a child’s health information, dietary or medical needs, photographs, or any special category data through this website.

Exercising rights on a child’s behalf: As the parent or guardian, you may exercise the rights set out below on behalf of your child, including asking us to correct or delete their information. Contact us at [email protected] and we will respond within one month.

Retention: We keep a child’s name and date of birth for 24 months from your last interaction with us, after which it is deleted or anonymised. Once we have sent your enquiry to a nursery, that nursery holds its own copy under its own retention policy, and you will need to contact the nursery directly to have that copy removed.

Your Rights

Under the GDPR, you have the right to access, correct, delete, and restrict the processing of your personal data. You also have the right to object to processing and, where we have asked for your consent to process your data, to withdraw this consent at any time.

Data Retention

We retain personal information only for as long as necessary to provide the services requested by you, or for other essential purposes such as complying with our legal obligations, resolving disputes, and enforcing policies.
