About this Wilmslow Nursery

Description

Welcome to Little Bird’s Nest Pre-school

Welcome to Little Bird’s Nest Pre-school.

Little Bird’s Nest Pre-school was formerly known as Nursery Lane Preschool, which was owned by Pat Davis. Nursery Lane sadly closed in December 2020, after serving the local community for many years. The setting was taken over by Clare Harding, who reopened the pre-school as Little Bird’s Nest Pre-school on 6th September 2021.

Based at St Anne’s Church Hall in the heart of Wilmslow, our pre-school has a long history of serving families within the local community. Many children who attend our setting go on to local primary schools, including St Anne’s Fulshaw, Gorsey Bank, Ashdene and Lindow Primary School, to name just a few.

Our pre-school is registered with Ofsted and provides a safe, welcoming and stimulating environment where children can learn, explore and develop through play.

Our Vision

Our vision is to provide a child-centred, secure and happy environment where children have the time, space and freedom to explore, investigate and discover.

We offer exciting and stimulating opportunities for children to learn through play. Our curriculum is influenced by a range of approaches and is delivered and supported by qualified, experienced and caring staff who are committed to helping every child achieve their full potential.

Our setting is based in a large church hall with a wonderful, spacious outdoor play area. We operate as a pack-away pre-school, which has many benefits. It allows our staff to continually reflect on and review the environment we provide and adapt it to meet the changing needs and interests of the children.

Being a pack-away setting also gives children opportunities to have a voice in how their environment is arranged, including where activities and resources are placed. This helps children develop a sense of ownership, independence and responsibility.

Our Aims

We aim to:

Provide a high-quality environment and an excellent standard of early years education, following the Characteristics of Effective Teaching and Learning.

Support and value every child as a unique individual, recognising and celebrating their individual interests, strengths and needs.

Provide exciting play opportunities and experiences that enable children to progress across all seven areas of learning and development within the EYFS.

Build positive, trusting relationships with children and their families, encouraging parents and carers to become actively involved in their child’s pre-school experience.

Prepare children for their transition to primary school while encouraging self-help, confidence and independence skills.

Be positive role models, promoting kindness, respect and care for one another and for our environment.

Regularly reflect on our enabling environment and our practice to ensure we continue to provide the best possible experiences and opportunities for the children in our care.

At Little Bird’s Nest Pre-school, we believe that every child deserves the opportunity to flourish, develop their confidence and enjoy learning through play in a safe, nurturing and supportive environment.
