About this Horsham Nursery

Description

Little Barn Owls Nursery & Farm School, Woodlands, Horsham, is a 120-place nursery offering a nurturing environment where children are supported to grow in confidence, independence and curiosity.

We work closely in partnership with families and operate an open-door policy, ensuring strong relationships and ongoing communication to support every child’s development.

Our approach is enquiry-based and inspired by the Reggio Emilia philosophy, where children lead their learning through their own interests, ideas and natural curiosity. We see every child as capable and full of potential, and our educators guide and support them through meaningful, play-based experiences that encourage creativity, exploration and a lifelong love of learning.

Our Woodlands nursery provides a rich, engaging environment with dedicated spaces for each age group, including baby, toddler and preschool rooms, all with access to their own creative areas and free-flow outdoor spaces. Our inside–out approach allows children to move freely between indoors and outdoors throughout the day, supporting independence, choice and continuous learning.

Outdoor learning is at the heart of life at Woodlands. Children spend significant time outside each day, whether exploring the garden, building dens, or developing confidence through our Forest School sessions.

Our Farm School gives children the opportunity to care for a wide range of animals, including our pig Woody, hens, rabbits, quails and guinea pigs, helping to build responsibility, empathy and a strong connection with nature.

Each day offers a balance of child-led play, small group activities and creative experiences such as art, cooking and storytelling. Activities are shaped around children’s interests, often developing into longer-term projects that make learning meaningful and engaging. Fresh, home-cooked meals are prepared onsite daily using seasonal ingredients, with children often involved in growing and preparing food as part of their learning.

We work in close partnership with parents, keeping you connected through regular communication, shared observations and updates on your child’s progress.

At Little Barn Owls Nurseries, we provide a safe, supportive and inspiring environment where every child feels valued and encouraged, giving them the very best start to their learning journey.
